一、助動詞would
1．would主要用構(gòu)成過去將來時(可用于各個人稱)：
I knew you would agree．
我知道你會同意的。
I thought they would be waiting for us．
我以為他們會等我們的。
He asked if I would join them．
他問我要不要參加他們的活動。
I told her that we would meet at the station．
我告訴她我們將在車站碰頭。
would?？删o縮為“’d”：
I thought he’d be sleeping．我以為他會在睡覺的。
would not可緊縮為wouldn’t：
I thought you wouldn’t come．我還以為你不會來的哩。
2．would用于條件句，表示假想的情況(可用于各個人稱)：
1 would do it if I could．
要是我有能力我是會這樣做的。
If I were you，I wouldn’t agree.
我要是你我不會同意。
If they had left earlier．they would have caught the train
他們要是動身早一點就趕上火車了。
1 would have refused if he had asked me.
如果他問我我是會拒絕的。
3．would用來表示過去習(xí)慣性動作或傾向：
Occasionally he would come to see us．
他偶爾會來看望我們。
Every afternoon they would play together．
他們每天下午都在一起玩。
Now and then a bird Would call．
時不時有鳥叫。
The wound wouldn’t heal．
傷口老不能愈合。
4．would用在日常生活中，用來提出請求，看法等，使口氣顯得更婉轉(zhuǎn)：
I’d like a ticket to Hangzhou．
我想買一張到杭州的票。
London wouldn’t suit her．
倫敦對她不合適。（比won’t婉轉(zhuǎn))
Would you like to have dinner with me tonight?
你今晚愿意和我一道吃晚飯嗎?
You’d like some tea，wouldn’t you?

5．用于過去情況)表示“愿意”(相當于will的過去式)：
No matter what happened，he would not say a word．
不管發(fā)生什么情況他一句話也不肯說。
He would never enter that house again.
他再也不愿進那個家。
6．would也可表示猜測：
I thought you would have finished this by now.
我想你現(xiàn)在已經(jīng)干完了。
The person you mentioned would be your father.
你捉到的那人想必是你父親。
